Preparation and Evaluation of Yellow Beeswax Matrixes of Nalidixic Acid

Abstract
|
|
|
Yellow beeswax matrixes of nalidixic acid for slow release medication was prepared, and evaluated in vitro and in vivo test. Agg A(core: matrix=1.5:1.5g) and Agg B (core: matrix=2.4:0.6g) were made by modification of Kawashima’s liquid stspension method. For these products, dissolution test was conducted, and then, blood nalidixic acid concentration of oral Agg A was compared with that of nalidixic acid suspension.
The results are as follows:
1) The order of dissolution rate constants (K_s) was Agg B>nalidixic acid powder> Agg A.
2) Absorption fraction (F) and absorption constant (K_6) of Agg A were more decreased than those of nalidixic acid suspension, but blood nalidixic acid concentration of Agg A was sustained significantly.
From these facts, it was considered that yellow beeswax matrixes of nalidixic acid for slow release medication have some possibilities in practical application.
